How do voice postcards work?
Record up to 60 seconds in the language you are practising or answer a prompt. Your postcard goes to native speakers of your target language who are learning yours and are awake right now. The first person to reply becomes your pen pal and you both earn a country stamp.
Why did nobody reply yet?
Replies usually arrive within a few hours. If nobody answers within 24 hours, Talky, our AI partner, replies so you are never left waiting. AI replies are always labelled.
How do I earn a stamp?
A stamp lands in your passport when you and someone from a new country have both sent at least one postcard to each other.
Can I use DoTalky on my computer?
Yes. Open app.dotalky.com and sign in with the same Google, Apple or email account. Messages and your passport sync everywhere.
Is everything free?
Yes, every feature is free for everyone. Fair daily limits, like 20 minutes of Talky AI practice, only keep the servers fast.
Why was my message not sent?
Phone numbers, usernames, links, other apps and adult content are blocked to keep everyone safe, even when spelled out. Repeated attempts can pause your account.
How do I report or block someone?
Long-press a message and choose Report, or open their profile and tap the menu. Blocking is instant; our team reviews reports within 24 hours.
Who can message me?
Go to Settings → Privacy → Who can message me: everyone, verified people only, or pen pals only.
What are the photo rules?
Your main photo must clearly show your face. You can add up to 6 more photos; they do not need to show your face, but people must be in them. Photos of only nature, flowers, insects, animals, food or objects, screenshots and images with text or contact details are rejected.
Why was my photo rejected?
Our system did not find a face (main photo) or a person (additional photos), or found something not allowed. The app tells you the reason; try a clearer photo of you.
How do I sign in?
With Google, Apple or a 6-digit code sent to your email. We do not use phone numbers or SMS.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. On the web: dotalky.com/delete-account. Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days.
How do I download my data?
Settings → Data & privacy → Download my data. We email you a link to a file with your profile, postcards, messages and passport.
